For readers who aren’t familiar with the Winter Soldier (I admit, I had to look it up), this question relates to whether a brain controlled robotic arm could give someone extra powers beyond normal. Important research in the area of brain-controlled robotics is being done by John Donoghue, director of the Institute for Brain Science at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, in the US. Dr. Donoghue recently spoke at the World Science Festival and explained that researchers are not trying to create super-powers. They are simply trying to help people with disabilities regain function and gain independence.
